The Beauty A-list…

I’m always getting asked for product recommendations, so I thought it might be handy to compile my top beauty guide for those of you with little time on your hands. You’ll find each and every product proudly standing tall on my bathroom shelf, and after smothering myself in every cream going I like to think I kind of know my stuff! So introductions aside, here’s my A-list:

1. Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Make-up, £33.

Style & Gloss says: ‘I’ve tried countless foundations, but my combination skin seems to like this one the best. It provides a medium amount of coverage, makes tired skin glow and covers spots or dark circles. Perfect in every way.’

2. Joico Body Luxe Volumising Shampoo, £13.23 & Conditioner, £13.23.

Style & Gloss says: ‘If you have troublesome hair like mine, you do ned to spend a bit more on a shampoo, but this is well worth the cash. It gives body without lots of blow-drying and makes my hair look good without any hard work. A hair saviour.’

3. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Complex, £36.

Style & Gloss says: ‘It wasn’t until I was dealing with a newborn that I realised the true value of this eye gel. When I’m tired, or know that sleep is debatable, just a few dots under my eyes before bed will make all the difference come morning.’

4. Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara, £9.99.

Style & Gloss says: ‘Finding your dream mascara is impossible. But I happen to love this gem. It conditions my lashes and makes them look super long in just a few strokes. Impressive stuff.’

5. Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair Treatment, £18.50.

Style & Gloss says: ‘The PR team at Aveda got me addicted to this a few summers ago. It really helps to detangle after washing, protects against heat damage and acts as a deep conditioner. I love it because it’s multi-tasking at it’s best.’

6. Clarins Energising Wake Up Booster, £15.

Style & Gloss says: ‘If you need a wake-me-up this is it! It’s the best way to energise a tired face before you apply moisturiser. The fruity smell is really distinctive and it’s become part of my 60 second ritual. I couldn’t start the morning without it.’

7. Smiths Rose Bud Lip Salve, £8.

Style & Gloss says: ‘I used to always stock up on this when I went stateside, but it really is the best lip balm ever. I’ve got all my friends hooked too. Use on lips, cuticles or dry patches of skin to instantly soothe or hydrate. Yum.’

8. Elnett Satin Normal Strength Hairspray, £6.

Style & Gloss says: ‘The smell of Elnett will always remind me of my Grandma’s shampoo and set. A cult-classic now 50 years old, this hairspray has lasted the test of time because its fine texture is so easy to brush out, but it still holds your hair in place. And you can’t argue with that.’

9. Palmers Coco Buter, £3.77.

Style & Gloss says: ‘Why spend a fortune on a body cream? A good all year round winner, this keeps skin soft and supple, especially during pregnancy. It also leaves a nice dewy sheen on your legs. I slather it on after every shower (time permitting!).’

10. Origins Never A Dull Moment, £24.

Style & Gloss says: ‘Love, love, love. I’ve been using this for about 10 years because it isn’t scratchy like some exfoliaters and is a real joy to use. Plus, it really makes my skin feel more alive on those hard-to-get out of bed mornings.’
